Framlingham Castle

This is the back view of Framlingham Castle

Can you call it a castle if there really isn't a castle? Maybe I need a European to explain this one to me. We went to Framlingham castle only to find a wall around a big grassy area with a house snug up to an inner wall. The Bible talks about cities having walls around them for protection which is exactly what this "castle" was. Who determines if something is a castle or a fort? What really makes a castle a castle? I'll give them it is intimidating from the outside. When we tried to follow the outside path we reached a muddy area. I didn't want to walk through the black mud so me and three other ladies went up the very steep embankment and followed the edge of the castle around to the mud free area. I didn't consider how I would get back down. Oh, my goodness that was scary. I would have been pleased if someone above me had thrown a rope to help me down. Unlike the three ladies before me I backed down the embankment. I was just starting to breathe a sigh of relief, with Neal at my side, when I noticed I was only halfway down. The guy with the three ladies (his wife and daughters) had his camera out waiting for me to fall. He kept joking about winning big money when he turns in the video of me falling. He helped ease the tension I must admit. I joked back and forth with him. He might have been more help if he climbed past me and threw a rope down so I could have more support in walking down. He was even informing me which bones I would/could break for falling from the top. When he gave me an update of possible broken bones at the halfway point I asked him what show he was sending his video into. I told him my hope was to do a graceful fall that did the most damage to my bruised my ego. These are inside the castle walls.

Easter Outfit

Easter's coming so it's time to start thinking about what Kaitlyn will wear. I have been searching online for several weeks now for the right dress or outfit. Nothing has struck me as "the one" so I kept hunting. I finally went to a site called You Can Make This (click on one of the adds to check out the site) and picked out two ebooks. I haven't started them yet. I'm hoping the top comes out looking something like this...

And the bottoms look like these...

I'm excited to give them a try. I'll have to show pictures next month when I get it done.

1st Haircut

I forgot to mention Kaitlyn got her first haircut on Monday. I know she doesn't have flowing locks, but one day it will be thick and long thanks to all the trims she gets today. I have trimmed her bangs twice. This second time I can tell a big difference in how thick they look. I saw a toddler boy a little older then Kaitlyn at the BX with long stringy hair. He was my inspiration to trim the back of Kaitlyn's hair. I don't want a stringy hair child if I can help it. Hehehe...

Not another cold =(

Sneezing, coughing, and a runny nose; that just me you should see Kaitlyn. Actually she is the one doing most of the coughing. I had to elbow my way into a dr appointment for her this morning. They gave me something that will hopefully start clearing up her nasal drip really soon. While in the waiting room she coughed so much she graced me with two rounds of vomiting. Not cool. Thankfully I second guessed myself and grabbed the box of tissues before getting out of the car. A nearby mom grabbed tissues and rushed them to my aid. Now if she will just stop coughing and start eating we will be doing good. I say we... I would like a nap. My runny nose and sneezing isn't helping with the achy feeling. Of course Kaitlyn's aches take precedence over my own. Anyone want to be a fill in mom for a few days? I'm taking applications. Because I don't feel well, I'm not being that strict. I'm starting with first come gets the position in addition to I must know you and approve by what I already know.

Potty Mouth

My child curses. I honestly don't know what she is trying to say, but it comes out as "ass". We don't curse nor do we have her around people who do. A while back I said something like "class" and she has cut off the first two letters ever since. She hasn't said it in a couple weeks, but yesterday it popped into her head. While we were coming and going from a castle Kaitlyn was repeating her word. And she's saying it now. LOL... I told Neal if she says it in front of anyone I'm going to tell them she is saying "eyes". No, it really doesn't sound like eyes, but she's new at talking so maybe they will buy it. This morning she was saying her word to Neal so he started pointing at her eye while saying "eyes". Time will only tell if we can work it out of her vocabulary or change it.

New Words

Kaitlyn is a talker. Every 3-7 days she learns how to say a new word. So far everything, but "E-ah" (ear) and "nana" (banana) come out proper. Her newest word is teeth. Tonight as I walked her into the bathroom for her bath she was pointing up to her toothbrush saying, "teeth". Her second newest word is hat. Just about anything can be a hat. Yesterday I was able to compose myself long enough to snap a couple pictures of Kaitlyn with my panties on her head before I took them away. Afterwards I had a good laugh.

She can still say nose, mouth, and eye while pointing at them all either on you or her, but she has decided to move onto new words for now; it's rare I hear her say any of them. She still says "E-ah" off and on all day. A couple days ago I was eating oatmeal and she wanted some. I kept telling her it was hot. She would touch the bottom of the bowl and say "hot... hot..." just like she does with the radiators. You would think if they are hot she would take her hand off, but she doesn't. She just declares, "hot... hot..." and keeps touching it. Anyway, after a round of me blowing on the spoon then feeding her my oatmeal she was getting to demanding. I kept reminding her it was hot. She suddenly touches the bottom of the bowl and says "hot" then her mouth "eat". Neal and I both started laughing. Although she can be a pill at times she is also a riot to have around.

Little Brit

My baby is British. Yes, I know she has American blood in her veins, but I think being born on British soil might be taking it's toll on her accent. In the last couple days she has decided to start saying "ear", but she sounds soooo British when she says it. It comes out more like "E-ah"; you don't really hear the r, but you can plainly tell what she is trying to say. Last night I started laughing when I heard her saying it and made the connection. She sounds like the other British kids who say "Da-E" for daddy.
Here's Kaitlyn with Neal's baby cousin whose two months older.
