Masters

Kaitlyn has mastered opening our entryway door. Thankfully the front door locks with a key so she can't get out it.

If it weren't for the key lock we would never be able to keep her in the house again. Just wait in a couple months we will move back to the States and Kaitlyn will master the round door knob. I guess my parents getting the front door handle that you must push it down with your thumb was a great idea; it will take her longer to figure it out.

18 Months Old

*Sniff, sniff* My baby is a year and a half old today. She doesn't seem to understand how big she is getting. She is still just under 31" so I think her arms must be growing because she can reach so much more then she used to. Nothing is safe anymore. Our bed is about 3' off the ground and she can climb on it. Once on the bed she will play with stuff on our headboard. Books, clocks, and so forth all have Kaitlyn's grubby fingerprints on them. Someone her in the UK got the bright idea to put on/off switches on plug-ins. I'm not sure what they were really thinking. I now have problems keeping our phone upstairs charged and my clock on the right time because Kaitlyn turns off the switches. She thinks it's a fun game.

Oh, my goodness Balamory is going to drive me nuts. This is the dumbest show ever. Seriously it is one of the shows on Cbeebies I hate the most. I also dislike the show with the car that is always chasing criminals. It's stupid! I'm not a Barney hater because I think Barney can teach kids good things. However one of the ladies on Balamory was just yelling at a cop saying his slowness in sorting through the lost and found is putting her off in getting her book back. I'm think, "hmmm, you left your book somewhere and now you're blaming someone?" Seeing how this is a kids show you would expect something good to come from the lady yelling. Nope! They made the lost and found boxes the cops fault until the end. The lady didn't apologize nor help sort the boxes. Tell me what Kaitlyn is supposed to learn from that?!!! Great now The Shiny Show is starting. I just find this one annoying. At least they do teach some good things on this show.

Just A Swinging

Only recently has Kaitlyn liked to swing. It helps if you don't put shoes on her because the ground is "yuck" and she doesn't want to touch it. With shoes on she would jump off the swing and start running down the driveway.

BFN

We didn't get the answer we had hoped for. The whole IVF process was twice as long as usual, three months to be exact, and yet we walk away empty handed. We have one more shot before we leave the UK. We are looking to do an FET before October. I'm not looking forward to the additional cost that we were not counting on. We had hoped to pay off our car before leaving here, but now we will need +$3,000 for one more attempt to give Kaitlyn a sibling.

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

It was time for Kaitlyn to get another haircut. Her hair isn't that long so I've been debating whacking it off again. We've enjoyed watching it spill down her back when we wash her hair. However, I've noticed it is really thin and several different layers. After reading this http://www.jbrooke7.typepad.com/ blog today I decided to whack off her hair. I'm wondering how long it will take Neal to notice her hair stops just below her hairline. Hopefully he won't be to disappointed and her hair will grow quickly. If anyone has tips on how to get a toddler to sit still while you try to cut their hair straight I would love to hear them. I gave her a cheese and cracker sandwich, but that didn't help so I handed her a toy which really didn't help either. I finally put her in the tub and got her hair wet hoping I could see were it needed to be trimmed to even it up, but she moved to much. I gave up. I figured I can try again later. I'm just hoping it's not noticeably uneven.

What Really Happened

When you only see one picture you don't really get the full picture of the event. With Kaitlyn most everything is an event.
Kaitlyn has had corn many times and it was "okay", but recently we gave her corn on the cob and she loved it. Her second go at the corn we gave her the whole cob to munch on. It went something like this...

Mmm... Corn is good.

Don't take my picture!!! *sniff, sniff*

Mmm... We need to have corn more often.

I said not to take my picture!

I'm afraid she has my attitude towards cameras. I don't like them in my face and hate when people feel they must take multiple photos. If we would have stopped with one shot we never would have gotten the two with her crying.
